Al Quaeda Intermezzo.

Bin Ladin probably killed by the US (Stratfor)

Red Alert: Osama bin Laden Killed

Red Alert: Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood
The United States has killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and recovered his body, according to numerous media reports May 1 citing U.S. officials. U.S. President Barack Obama is scheduled to make an announcement on the subject. It is not clear precisely how bin Laden was killed or how his body was recovered, but the assertion that he is dead is significant.
Bin Laden had become the symbol of al Qaeda, even though the degree to which he commanded the organization was questionable. The symbolic value of his death is obvious. The United States can claim a great victory. Al Qaeda can proclaim his martyrdom.
It is difficult to understand what this means at this moment, but it permits the Obama administration to claim victory, at least partially, over al Qaeda. It also opens the door for the beginning of a withdrawal from Afghanistan, regardless of the practical impact of bin Laden’s death. The mission in Afghanistan was to defeat al Qaeda, and with his death, a plausible claim can be made that the mission is complete. Again speculatively, it will be interesting to see how this affects U.S. strategy there.
Equally possible is that this will trigger action by al Qaeda in bin Laden’s name. We do not know how viable al Qaeda is or how deeply compromised it was. It is clear that bin Laden’s cover had been sufficiently penetrated to kill him. If bin Laden’s cover was penetrated, then the question becomes how much of the rest of the organization’s cover was penetrated. It is unlikely, however, that al Qaeda is so compromised that it cannot take further action.
At this early hour, the only thing possible is speculation on the consequences of bin Laden’s death, and that speculation is inherently flawed. Still, the importance of his death has its consequences. Certainly one consequence will be a sense of triumph in the United States. To others, this will be another false claim by the United States. For others it will be a call to war. We know little beyond what we have been told, but we know it matters.

  1. Re the demise of OBL

Great news. May he languish in hell, alongside Che, Stalin, Mao and the rest of their ilk.

  2. I think it is very important:
"The objective of the war against Libya isnot just its oil reserves ..., nor the natural gas reserves... In the crosshairs of "willing" of the operation “Unified Protector” there are sovereign wealth funds, capital that the Libyan state has invested abroad."

  3. Could we at least keep THIS particular thread about the demise of OBL and related topics, NOT Libya.

  4. I am wondering about if it is true- since telegraph states' his body will be buried at sea'- strange?
Also I think it may relate to Libya if it is being used as a distraction, especially in the USA, to the bombings and deaths of the son and grandchildren of gaddafi in Tripoli. The timing is either very convenient or coincidental.

  6. I would love to know the details and background of this killing of OBL. Obviously it will be extremely difficult to learn anything concrete about it.

  7. @ Hermes

But, on the positive side, that shouldn't stop the conspiracy theorists having a field day with the story, should it?

  8. In fact, I think I might know how "they" did it.

by the mere tweaking of Heribert Illig's 'Phantom Time Hypothesis' it should be possible to prove that the CIA killed OBL in 1999 (more than two years before 9/11) and buried him at sea on the pretence it was actually John F Kennedy Jr they were burying. So, who's the bloke they killed in Pakistan and later buried at sea? Why that would be none other than L Ron Hubbard, of course.

Don't ask me who they buried at sea in place of L Ron Hubbard, because I haven't worked that one out (yet).

Possibilities include but are not of necessity restricted to the following named individuals:

    Janis Joplin

    Rock Hudson...

  9. What intrigues me most is the "cooperation" of the ISI. Since they were continuously in cahoots with Bin Ladin and the Taliban they must have had either a pistol to their heads or a serious package of dollars for some of the bosses.

  10. How was Bin Laden tracked down?

    by Doug Brown

    1 May 2011

Silence was Golden in the Hunt For Bin Laden.

How to stand out in an affulent Pakistani suburban community surrounded by retired military officials:

” ‘Intelligence analysis concluded that this compound was custom built in 2005 to hide someone of significance,’ with walls as high as 18 feet and topped by barbed wire, according to one official. Despite the compound’s estimated $1 million cost and two security gates, it had no phone or Internet running into the house.”

Can one really be anonymous, or without an electronic fingerprint in today’s digital world?

Privacy is dead and so is Bin Laden.

  11. This is beyond hilarious.
When I lived there it took my friends maximum 2 hours to find me.
A compound with 18 ft walls must be the only one in a range of 20 km.
    This is surrealistic.
Of course it isn't, it's pure corruption.

  12. Now I understand why they started bombing luxury compounds:-)))

  13. What are they going to do now with their Al Quaeda partners in Benghazi?
Put them in the Sheraton Heliopolis in Cairo?
I can't stop imagining the ridiculousness of this situation, while that Foggy Bottom harpy is giving her "official" comment on TV.
Did she ask permission in Benghazi concerning the text?
