The mass media forgot to report this.
The UN will possibly forget it also.
Tribal Leaders and Elders, co-ordinators of the Tribal Forum, from those two thousand tribal and clan leaders who had met on the 5th and 6th May, met with the UN Special Envoy, Khatib on 16th May. They stated one of the decisions that came out of this Forum was being against any foreign interference in the future of Libya.
They asked him to maintain funds to Libya and gave him data with videos and evidence of atrocities committed by rebels who, they said, had terrorized innocent people, the data included confessions from some rebels who had turned themselves in, taking advantage of the amnesty offered by the Libyan Government. They briefed the envoy on the effects of NATO bombing which was a result of erroneous interpretation of resolutions 1973 1970 and constituted a terrorist attack on Libya, They asked him how this was protecting civilians? They also asked the Special Envoy to deliver their message to the UN Secretary to stop this aggression on Libya, and that Libya is open to any international mission to investigate facts to counter the lies and misrepresentation in the media about the situation.
